Our Family Built This Farm

We are passionate about learning about the history of bison and the benefits of bison farming to the land as well as the amazing health benefits of including bison into your diet.

In 2015 the perfect opportunity presented itself to us, and Thunder Ridge Bison Co. was born.

In the Hills of the Oak Ridges Moraine

An ancient, natural and ecologically important feature to Southern Ontario, the Oak Ridges Moraine is not only a massive supply of fresh water to millions, but it's home to several at-risk species of plant and animal, including Tallgrass Prairie and our very own North American Plains Bison.

Where Happy Bison Roam the Fields

With an ever growing herd of Bison roaming the Oak Ridges Moraine, our farm has established itself with natural feeding and breeding practices that are perfect for that habits of the Plains Bison.

As a result, our Bison are happy and healthy, and the herd grows in number every year.

We Have a Passion for Bison

  • "I love being able to share our experience with people and taking people out to see the bison in the fields. The same way people can get quietly mesmerized by watching a campfire, comes to light when they have the chance to get up close and personal with the bison."
